Görlitz to Děčín

Today we left Germany and hit the hills. My tummy was a bit unhappy after all the stodge yesterday - I think I will avoid the schnitzel and stick to cake. After pootling 38km along smooth cycle paths in lovely sunshine, the last German coffee stop was typically yummy but also had a large cow decorating the square accompanied by 80’s pop music - absolutely no idea why.
The climbing then started through beautiful countryside into the Czech Republic.

You always know it’s a good climb when you go past a ski jump..

This road sign made me snigger...

Bohemian architecture looks very similar to Saxony, with lots of ornate twiddly bits and clock towers.

The ride to the lunch stop was absolutely beautiful through a valley next to a stream and a single track railway. After lunch the road became busier but the drivers were still mostly well behaved. We rode into

Děčín and up a 12.6% climb to the hotel - not appreciated by rather tired tree trunks. One of the group decided to tackle the 17% cobbled climb to the castle so these photos are his and definitely not mine!

Today’s geeky bike stats obviously also have to show the climbing profile.
